Director, Counseling & Psychological Services at California State University, San Bernardino

The Director guides the staff in a team approach to strategic planning, development, and implementation of student mental health services and initiatives; assures optimal coordination and provision of mental health services; leads the process to maintain accreditation; directs mental health testing services; and advances continuous improvement and incorporation of national best practices to ensure highly effective, developmentally appropriate interventions and prevention efforts designed to engage students, faculty, and staff in meaningful and lasting education around issues of mental health.

Applicants must possess an earned doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and a valid license to practice as a Psychologist in the state of California; or if licensed in another state, eligible for reciprocity per CA Business and Professions Code Chapter 6.6 Article 3 § 2946 and must be licensed in California within one year of employment. A minimum of five years of experience managing counseling services, preferably on a college campus, is required. Further, applicants must possess demonstrated experience in provision of counseling services, training and supervising counseling staff, and experience providing counseling services to diverse populations. Demonstrated innovative leadership practices and exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are needed. The ability to mentor staff and advance a culture of service, inclusion, and collaboration with all campus constituents is also required.
